Hernán operates as a geologist, focusing on geological – paleontological studies for EIAs and DIAs throughout Chile, executing baseline studies and monitoring/assessment in numerous mining projects, underground works, transportation companies, and electrical transmission projects. He has extensive experience in conservation, heritage management, and paleontological collections management.
Additionally, Hernán has worked in non-metallic mining exploration in “Salar de Atacama”, Northern Chile, and execution of geochemical analyzes of agricultural soils, where he developed his bachelor thesis work in Valparaíso region, being complemented with geostatistical techniques in GIS computer systems.
Besides, he has teaching experience as an assistant professor at the Universidad Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD), focused on optical Mineralogy, Ore Microscopy, and Paleontology
